Its tectonic and material strategy is drawn from the land, and pursues mass and organic warmth. A long wall of stone, pulled from the ground of the site, emerges from the hillside, slips through the core of the house, and back out into the site again.
An overhanging barrel-vaulted slab of roof rests atop the stone, sheltering glass doors which, when slid into their pockets, convert much of the house into a lushly furnished outdoor terrace. The interiors of the home are a collaboration with US-based Lucas Design Associates.
